Events New to Tech Data for 2008, Tech Data Corporation will host its Technology Solutions Tour, a series of six regional channel conferences. The TST will enable an array of IT resellers, manufacturers and software publishers to engage one another, build partnerships and develop strategies to more profitably capitalize on the industry's latest technology trends. The SMBAccess program will be featured at 5 of the 6 conferences nationwide and will invite a select group of resellers.

Event The Technology Solutions Tour event provided our highly valued SMBAccess resellers the opportunity to maximize their sales opportunities in the SMB space. The conference included a variety of solutions-focused sessions which allowed resellers to strategize with their peers, vendor representatives and the Tech Data sales force. The conference featured not only the SMBAccess program, but also the Advanced Infrastructure Solutions, Networking, and TechEDG programs.
Event Recap: April 17-18, 2008 Chicago, Illinois The inaugural Technology Solutions Tour was held on April 17-18, 2008 at the Hyatt Regency - O’Hare, Chicago, Illinois. Over 170 resellers took advantage of the opportunities to grow their business with 70 Vendor Partners and Tech Data's sales force. Activities included Tech Data presentations from Tech Data Vice President, Central/West Sales, Marty Bauerlein and Tech Data Senior Vice President, IT Americas, John Tonnison, Vendor Partner Round Robin Meetings and SMB solutions presentations, and a Technology Showcase sponsored by over 70 Vendor Partners. To provide entertainment and business improvement tools, attendees enjoyed presentations from guest speakers, Andy Sernovitz, author of Word of Mouth Marketing: How Smart Companies Get People Talking, Karen Marino, President of Service Leadership, Inc., Steve Robb of LaSalle Solutions, innovation specialist and award-winning author Robert B. Tucker, and Comedian Greg Schwem.

In addition to attending these sessions, resellers had the opportunity to learn about new Vendor Partner programs and services during the evening dinner and cocktail receptions, followed with an enjoyable “Night for High Rollers”. The event ended with Tech Data prize giveaways totaling $900 in AMEX cards, 2 Apple iPod Touch, digital cameras, electronic picture frames, computer monitors and an HP laptop! Additionally, as an added thank you to the SMB customers for attending, each received a $25 gas card during the final session. |
